Arrived to Galveston Marina at 630am. It was a nice warm morning near 70 degrees. The boat ramp was stacked. As usual I was getting either the funny looks like I am crazy for for fishing on a ski or the rare, "nice set up."

I was told about a hot spot for flounder. Supposedly in a few of the tanker slips flounder stack up on the out going tide. Loaded a quart of live shrimp and headed to the first spot which was taken. Headed to the second slip and there was one free side for me to fish. First hour, nothing....then hit a 23" flounder! Right after I landed my first Toad Fish. It was definetly the ugliest fish I had ever seen. Tossed it back ;) 30 minutes later I landed a fish that didn't fight like a flounder. Ended up being a nice size Black Drum. About an hour later I hit the second flounder. Took it out of the net for a quick picture and it fell off the hook. Lesson learned. Head home... Another great day on the water

Thats a nice flounder I like to leave them whole and stuff them with seafood stuffing. Broil them up with some garlic butter oh man thats good. Good report there is a spot on the Lidia Ann channel were they stack up as well. Might have to head out if I ever get a chance.

Sorry cant go during the week. I'm going to wait for the next 70+ degree weekend weather to go out again.

The nice thing about those spots is that the wind can be blowing 30 knots and you're protected.
