2007 Kawasaki Ultra LX "Help"

Postby david73073 » Sun Dec 26, 2010 7:10 pm

I just bought a used Ultra LX with 22 hrs on it. I would like any information that could help me rig it out for fishing. I live in southern Louisiana. I am planning to mount a GPS/Fish Finder Unit along with a fuel tank/ice chest rear rack and possible trolling motor. Any help is greatly appreciated

I have an 07 ultra also. They are good boats to fish off. I only have a rod holder set up on that one. My 06' has my gps and fish finder on it. The one thing to watch out for is: during long drifts with motor off you may flood your engine with water. We have not found how it's getting in yet. We have some ideas, but are still working on it. I sugest that you start it every few minutes if your drifting to clear the water from the exhust.

Hi,

I live in Houston and a friend of mine is making racks for the back. He made me one and just finished it yesterday. I will post pics in the next few days. He would be more than happy to make you one.

Hey Gblust,

You have already seen most of it. I have posted pics in "Brand New Custom Fishing Rack UPDATED." He has added 4 adjustable rod holders and a 5 gallon gas tank holder to it as well. If you can think it up he can build it. I will post pics this week...

What kind of starting price to build the basic unit?

I think he will start around $450 +shipping (stainless steel) but those are the kinds of things he is working out. I did speak with him about a possible interest coming from the site. He said he would work on a price and options list comparable to the others on the site. I'll keep you posted.
