2010 Seadoo GTX Rig

Postby drhee » Sun Oct 16, 2011 10:42 am

Hi,

New to the group and wondering if any of you have rigged a 2010 Seadoo GTX? I have 2 we are going to do up and would appreciate any insight.

We're going to be using them in Florida in the winter and on some freshwater lakes in the midwest in the summers.

Thanks,

D

If I remember right, the Gtx has a flat deck in the back that's perfect to fit a rack. If you're not planning to have a cooler, just make a rack to hold your rods and fear out of PVC. Make sure to use heavy duty straps to strap down the rack.

Look for 3/4 inch PVC rack in the garage with my name. I have a pair of GTX LD 02/07 and have had no issues with the racks. For pics try this link http://s1041.photobucket.com/albums/b42 ... ER%20RACK/

I am in Pakistan right now but if you have a question I'll try and get back to you

There are a few commercial rigs around (I am in New Zealand and there are two main ones here), or you can just make your own. When I first got started I bolted a few rod holders to the side of a chilli bin, and fixed that to the ski with some ratchet hooks. Took about 30 seconds to take on and off and never had any issues with it. I have now upgraded to one from Manta Marine - fully stainless with 7 rod holders and a bin. I have it on the back of my 2012 Sea-Doo GTX 155. If you check out my show online you will be able to see it at times, and next weeks show will likely be a show about how to set up a ski! Check it out at http://www.jetskifishingchannel.com - there is a new episode every week.
