I'd like more info on your trolling techniques. Maybe you could start a thread on it

I'm new to trolling and can use all the help I can get(divers, line counters, line weight, length of line out, etc, etc). I tried it about a month ago and when I reeled it in the line got all bunched up from twisting I guess...
Just realized you asked this question. Sorry for the delayed response. I got crazy line twist when I first tried also. I learned not to troll with spoons or anything without downward drag. Something with a lip keeps the lure from spinning. I swear by rapalas. Others work, but rapalas seem to produce . Smaller ones produce more, 3-4 inches. Larger surprises with great catches, but less hook ups. When choppy waters I use a deeper diver. Mostly I like the ones that are slim bodied which dive just 5 feet below the surface. I recommend a SXR-8 to start. Sexy hot pink works great where I live. If the water is real clear, white or a blue/silver. But don't be afraid to channge it up if nothing is hitting. line weight should match what is expected to catch. If fish with teeth are expected, I use a 3-4 inch wire leader. Put it way back around 150-200 feet behind the ski. Good luck and let me know. Maybe I can help some more. I should also say, knowing the depth your at is important. importian as certien fish you may be targeting topically hang in certain depths. Look up your local fish species, there habits, there food, reef/wrecks or open water, depths, everything. Know your enemy, LOL. Also speed matters. I like 7mph. If nothing is hitting I'll speed it up to 10-13.
