Anacapa Island Rockfish

Postby alanhighhand » Tue Jun 28, 2011 4:22 pm

Me and my daughter launched at 5:45. We headed out to Chinese Harbor after couple miles later. We found out that the waves were rough. So we decided to go to Anacapa Island. We saw couple boats at the back side of the island so we decided to fish there. We fished couple spots, small bites, nothing happened. So I asked my daughter "You want to go to Chinese Harbor ." She said yes. We were going to Chinese Harbor but halfway there the waves were getting really rough. So we made a U-turn back to Anacapa Island for rockfish. WASTE OF MY GAS! Then she caught these beauties. I was happy for her. She beat me again! :(

Coming home with fresh fish, and spending a good day with your daughter is not a waste of gas.
Good job Alan!!!
Looks like you have Anacapa figured out.
I used to fish the channel islands when i lived in Ventura. Seen alot of whit seabass and baracuda come from there, especially chinese harbor

Nice one Alan! That's crazy the waves are rough up there. The local calico, sandbass, and cuba went wide open today so I was expecting good conditions. thanks for sharing as usual!

Good Job Alan. I doesn't bother me when a son or daughter catches more fish than I do but when Joe catches all the fish I go crazy.
