My exhaust is on the starboard side instead port (like I see in pictures of others exhaust). Has kawasaki re-routed the exhaust to help prevent this water from getting into engine? Also, it comes out of the waterbox on the port side and goes up about 12 inches to right underneath the grab handle on the back of the seat then back down and along the starboard side and out. Will this hump in the exhaust keep water from coming in? I think the water line would have to be above that hump in order to get into the engine?

This is how the exhaust on my Tigershark is put together and have never had a problem with starting after drifting. There is somewhat of an airlock in the crossover tube construction.

Where did you get that flapper from and did it work for you?

I have a 2006 STX 15-F and drift fish a lot. I have to remember to start the motor and blow out the water every 10 to 15 minutes or it will not start. But I found that if I take off the seats and let it air out for a few minutes, it starts up again. Just don't drain your battery with too many start up attempts before taking off the seats.
