The larger F-15 and turbo'ed F-15X is a far more attractive unit and is - bar-none - one of the single-most stable skis on the water today (also with a removable front bin). Honda, though, is pretty proud of its larger F-15 series, pricing way out of logic's reach. Best go to a dealership and purchase a heavily discounted '07 F-12 for half the price of a current model; most dealers are still sitting on several brand-new "overstock" units.

Ok im confused on one hand you say the f-12 is basically gonna beat you to death in rough water but then say its a better buy than the f-15 because of price? So for fishing offshore which to you get. And if not a Honda which brand ?

I hate to step on toes but for my money and the reliability in Hawaiian waters goes to Honda fx12 They handle great I can get almost a full day of trolling out of that huge tank and its pretty stable when your reeling in fish.

I have an RXT and an RXP. After owning Yam 1200's and a 1300, I am very happy with the Seadoo reliability in salt water. I want a versatile boat though. Good for towing tubes and wakeboards and for jumping waves. I've only recently started fishing.

The way I see it is....any 3 seater 4stroke PWC would be a great platform to fish with. All are designed to handle rough water and have ample gas mileage. I chose my sled due to it large storage capacity and some knick-knacks (trim adjustment, anti-theft remote, rear seat storage, motorcycle engine [im a moto mechanic] and color :) ) for the money I got it for, I say it's worth it.

For fishing you really can't have too much stability and storage so the 3-seater would be best. It is also is the only way to tow tubes and wakeboards.

But, if you also use your watercraft for riding, cruising or racing a 2 seater will also work for fishing just fine.

Good luck.

Thanks MejorPain, I will prob use the ski for a variety of things, about 50% riding 30% fishing and 20% towing a tube or wakeboard. Would this be ok on the R12x??? I have just read that the F12x dont handle as well and i dont want to feel like i'm riding a big boat, i still want to be able to play around on the ski. cheers. :)

This is some great info being that I'm new the board. Now I have to do my home work and decide on which PWC to buy.

Hi, I have been Jetskifishing in New Zealand for 3 years now on various brands... I changed models and brands regularly before finding the most practical Jetskifishing machine. For me, the most important attributes are stability, rough water riding, storage, comfort, fuel range, resale and versatility for the kit out. I chose the the Kawasaki Ultra LX-X as to be the best allrounder for Jetskifishing. (Just an opinion after accumulating over 500 hours Jetskifishing in all conditions.)
