Douby wrote:Well me and my Fishing buddy just picked up our 2004 yamaha fx ho crusiers today, they have a few hours on them, but these things look brand new inside. Been well taken care of. Test drove them both today and the can scoote across the water got up to 58-60 fast!
Happy with purchase now time to rig them.

I owned a 2006 FX HO 50th Anniversary Cruiser and loved it.. they do about 59mph on GPS, after doing my own exhaust system, removing the air filter and adding the R&D velocity stacks, I got it to run 61.2 on gps.

I am actually going to look for a 2002-2005 FX140 and make that my dedicated fishing ski.

Like I said before I test drove the ski and looked it over and it was perfect but, it has alot of hours on it. Should I be worried? One is 244, the other is 400.
But they run perfect and compression is 200-202 on all cyl. On both skis.
No corrison besides some clamps, everything else seems to be doing good
Just dew scratches from bumping the docks
Any help...

Only thing you have to be worried about is making sure the oil and plugs are changed on a regular basis.

Things I would check are the impeller shaft bearings, and impeller/wear ring clearance.

i like both yammy and sea doo. i rode on babaloo ho once thing i definetly noticed, extremely big seat compared to sea doo. its a lot wider, but it sits lower compared to mine. the only reason why i choose sea doo over yammy is the technology and looks. other than that i think if its ski vs ski both are great ! but yammy is definetly cheaper on maintenece.
