fish finders

Postby est 1972 » Thu Nov 10, 2011 7:21 pm

Im slowly putting my jetski together as far as the gear I need for fishing. In the next couple of weeks I will be installing a fish finder. I want to know if anyone has any suggestion? I'd like to buy a nice one, maybe color? Another question, is this easy to connect and will I need a better than stock battery?

There are plenty of fishmonger options out there. Depending on your budget, I would recommend a color for better reading of structure changes. Look for units that are 1000watts if you need the depth to go beyond 300ft. As far as installation, the basic setup is to install the transducer outside by the swim step and run wires inside the hull. My philosophy is to drill as few holes as possible. There are a few posts about installing a fish finder in the garage section. Have a look so you have an idea. But feel free to ask questions!
