Fishing off Pompano Beach Sunday 12/18

Postby FtLaudBlkGT » Sun Dec 18, 2011 11:42 am

Went fishing with ErcWrestlr this morning, we left the ramp around 7:45am.

The waters were calm, contrary to what the marine forecast noted, so we knew the waves and wind would pickup at some point

This is the view leaving the inlet:

That started changing pretty quick and by the time we started rolling in, about 11am, it was definitely 5 foot rollers which would have been perfect for wave jumping, but we had all the gear on the skis and didn't want to risk breaking or losing anything. LOL

I ended up with 2 skipjack tuna (bigger one is 24 inches) and Eric ended up with one about the size of my bigger one.

Here's a pic of the bigger one and the skirt color that seems to be a proven winner for the tuna down here.

All in all, a day on the water is better than a day spent at home so whether we caught anything or not, it was a day well spent.
