Galveston Trip Easter Weekend 2011

Red Fish Rick and I got a late start and put in at Moses Lake around 10am. The weather was warm and sunny but winds were blowning 15-20 mph. Rick wanted to cruise for a bit since it was his first time getting the ski in the water since he had purchased it. We cruised for 12 miles to Galveston Marina for a quart of live shrimp then headed to the North Jetties through the cut. On our way there the sea weed was spotty but dispite my best efforts to dodge it I still managed to suck a bunch through the intake while in the ship channel. I hobbled to the protected side of the Jettie and got close to the rocks to remove it. I cut up my legs and feet pretty bad getting it out. (Yes, i'm wearing booties next time  ) Good thing Rick had a first aid kit to help me out.

We started fishing and hooked up with two smaller Bonet Head Sharks and a Croaker. After an hour or so we headed back for the long haul to Moses Lake.
All in all we had a great time. Next time we'll head out a bit earlier. :D

Glad to hear Red Fish Rick was able to try out his new ski. Some times that sea weed gets on my nerves also, but thats where the fish that I'm targeting are. Appears as if all that blood from your foot chummed the waters for thoses shark.
Thanks for sharing,
