Got a fishfinder

Postby jokerj280 » Tue Dec 27, 2011 5:13 am

Went to Bass Pro last night with my giftcards. Im like a kid in a candy shop at that place. Ended up getting a new fishfinder for the ski http://www.basspro.com/Garmin-echo-150- ... 656/102450 Has several mounting optinons for the transducer, ill be curious to see how it reads and what speed it is good up to. Also picked up a bag full of some new trolling lures, and a new planer. Now Just gotta get on the water and try it all out

how are you planning to install the transducer? thru-hull or outside? how about the display unit?

Got the same Garmin unit a few months ago for my FX HO. Read about mounting the transducer in the hull in silicone for 2 weeks before I had the nerve to do it; reads the botttom nice all the way up to 45mph - can't beat that!

Good luck with your install

Winnabowjack do you have any pics? I've seen a couple mounted in the hull but am curious about different mounts for the actual unit. I want to add one soon also. It want as little cutting and drilling possible tho
