HI from Australia

Postby odie » Wed Aug 18, 2010 1:19 am

Hi all from Melbourne Australia down on the southern end of oz. I have been fishing and diving from my ski for over 4 years now and love it . Will post some pics soon. There is a few of us now that get out on the skis to go fishing and diving or just long distance cruiseing with extra fuel on the back . Most poeple cant believe that we travel so far or do the things we do on a PWC ,unfortantly 90% of all PWC riders are just idiots on their ski and give every other rider a bad name.

I am from Perth... How you getting on with rigging your ski, The West? I have bought all my gear and will be welding the frame together this weekend as my original set up was just basic. Willow does a really good esky with a small hatch in the top, my mate uses one and its good as you dont need to lift the whole lid up to drop your catch inside... My setup will be one of those and then 2 smaller eskies, 1 on either side to house bait and tackle. The more gear you can get in the one spot the better as it means you dont need to lift the front hatch to get your gear out. This can be a pain in rough conditions like out the back of rotto... where abouts in Perth are you? I live near freo and if your going to build a frame and have it galvo dipped let me know as its $100 per 100kg and if we dip 2 frames its only $50 each...
This is my fishfinder/gps combo unit installed on my ski. It holds the bottom perfectly at over 75km/hr
