That gives me an idea. But the stirrup would have to pull mostly on the opposite gunnel. If it pulled on the same side it would most likely be able to tip easier. With the pressure on the opposite gunnel it would counter balance and hopefully be easier. But either way I get a lot of good ideas from this forum, going to work on this idea as well. I will post up with what if anything I come up with. Thanks!!

I have ZERO experience climbing into a loaded ski but I can do it on a kayak. I think a few things might apply here.

First I would take my ski to a waist deep water and practice where I can touch so I can always push off on the bottom if I am in trouble or walk the ski shollower untill I get the feel for it.

With a Kayak when you have a big man\women that cant pull himself up you make "deep water re-entry straps" It is simply a nylon strap that you sew a loop on one end (like a dog leash)and leave a way to attach the strap to the opposite side dangling about 3ft down. (usually on a kayak just a clip that snaps to a handle or handy point)

this way you can step into the strap and step up which pulls down on the opposite side while you do a pull up on the close side. I would think entering a ski would be MUCH easier!

I think you hit the nail on the head Longshot. The strap is what I was thinking. Also testing in sallow water is the way to go.
