Well my report is that it sucked! LOL

I hit the water at 7am to do some fishing before I met up with my friends to go skiing, trolled for about an hour trying the bigger Green/Yellow and the bigger Blue/Pink skirt and nothing. Decided to just troll with the blue/pink for a while and suddenly I started peeling line (had about 200 out I would guess) and it felt like a real nice sized Blackfin because of the distinctive tug, well I get about 175 feet of line in and I can see the shadow under the water since it was clear out and I was right, then suddenly it popped off the hook. Tried to troll another 30 minutes before heading back to the ramp to drop the fishing gear off and swore I would be back, unfortunately one of the people I was with experienced some issues with their ski, so I never made tit back.

Eric and I are going to try our luck where he caught the sailfish and I caught the 5 blackfins, hopefully Jason can make it too.

I took this pic of the Miami shoreline, I ended up going about another mile or so out.

Cool report even though it didn't end up how you wanted it too. At least you got out I've been trying for so long to get out but the weather and work just are not letting me. Thanks for the reports very informative, I like the pics. Do you use a downrigger when trolling? Or do you just troll the lure on top?

I just troll with the lures on top, I have been considering trying down riggers when I build a stronger cooler setup.

it's crazy how close you are to shore! most of the time for us SoCal folks, we'd only catch bass and rockfish.. but there are times when BIG white seabass cruises. :(

We only need to go a couple miles off shore to get some good fishing..
