Kind of scratching my head here....

At the left of the forum I see the stats:

Total posts 8454
Total topics 1325
Total Announcements: 1
Total Stickies: 12
Total Attachments: 150
Topics per day: 1
Posts per day: 8
Users per day: 1

Posts per topic: 6
Total members 839

I am kind of disappointed that there are 839 members on this site and pretty much the only action I have seen on this site in the las 24 hours of me being a member on here are pretty much my posts.

This is the same trend as all the other PWC forums unless you're on GreenHulk or PWCtoday.

I have about 150 local members on my Florida based PWC forum and I am scratching my head to figure out why people don't post, or why people do start posting, then lose interest and become lurkers, then at one point, don't even frequent the site.

What is it going to take for people to actually post and become active members? The guys in NZ are having a bast doing this and posting pics all over their FB, what is it going to take to get the others to do the same?

I like that there's a site for this stuff, but when there's no activity a new user is going to read all the old stuff, then probably not come back.

I'm just going to start posting videos of my ski adventures over the weekend, whether they are fishing related or not and hopefully others will follow in becoming active once more

The title of this Forum is JETSKISPORTFISHING
I have seen a number of posts, that although seem pretty cool in my opinion, have nothing to do with JETSKISPORTFISHING.
Sometimes the weather is not conducive to fishing. Therefore, you will probably not see too many posts.
I think that maybe we should stick to what the topic of this forum really is. JETSKISPORTFISHING
I am sure that there are pleanty of other forums that include bad ass mustangs, drag racing, wave jumping, etc.
Really no need to scratch your head.

Let me blunt here and don't be offended as what I am saying is meant in a positive way. LOL

Having a forum that stays on topic and never does anything else will get BORING REAL FAST and people will stop coming to it. People do other things, people like to socialize, maybe you don't but the general population has moments where they rant, want to share an experience, etc. I guess you missed the big picture and the point of this entire thread. In the meantime, I am attempting to add life to forum that is in vegetative state, and your exact view that kills forums because there is only so much fishing you can talk about.

You aren't forced to read my threads, but I am glad that you at least replied and continued to add life. :)

You basically asked a question, and I answered.
I was just stating the obvious. You can see how many people have viewed the thread, right?
I noticed that there were views, but very few repsonses.
Just thought I would chime in.

I could be wrong, but I thought the guy made this site for jetskisportfishing. thats what the stickers and shirts say.
People usually post their other interests on things like facebook, my space and youtube.

you both have a point and i am very appreciative of your passion! believe it or not, we are all in an unchartered territory. what i mean is that there are people who ride jetskis.. there are people who fishes. but i'm proud to say we have the first website that combines both! it's obvious that there are bigger, more popular websites for each topic. but the heart of this community is really a combination of both! some members are die-hard jetski riders and some are hardcore anglers. Me, for example, have been fishing many years and have done all types of fishing. It was several years ago did I start riding a jetski and then thought of this idea of fishing from a jetski. With that said, my experience with a watercraft has been limited. I have searched the web for answers and luckily learned a few tricks to bring into this very own community.

The idea behind this community is undoubtedly Jetski Sportfishing. However, the purpose is really to combine 2 separate communities, jetskiing and fishing, creating a brand new one that connect us all from all parts of the world. That is why we have experienced members that can answer questions about doing an oil change or even doing modifications to the engines, and members that are willing to share fishing tips. Now, we have a growing community of people who fishes from a jetski! :)

I am truly honored to have both of you join this community. I hope that you can both join me in expanding not just a website, but this sport I call Jetski Sportfishing.

who made this website anyway?? :P

I don't see myself as just a die-hard jet skier or just a die-hard fisherman, I have owned jet skis for 20+ years and I've been fishing for about 35 years so I consider myself passionate about both. I am more than happy to help members however I can, from helping someone pick out performance modifications to to get the most out their pwc to picking the right kind of fishing line to use, etc.

Besides it isn't any fun unless you stir it up every now and then.
