Majorpain....Lemo43 and the Clown are definately down for the 23rd.

I thought I'd post this thread so people know that there are plans to launch on La Jolla next Sunday, 5/23 in addition to the planned trip on 5/30. Meet at Mission Bay, Dana Landing from: I-5 S to: 32.766545,-117.233761 at 6:30 AM.

Send me a PM if you are coming and I'll give you a cell phone number to call when you reach the launch.

Psychoclown recruited me for 5/23 but the weather looks like it is going to be a complete blowout! You won't find me in La Jolla on 5/23 if the weatherman is right.

Fri Through Sat...Wind SW to W 10 to 20 kt. Wind waves 2 ft. NW swell 8 ft and S swell building to 5 ft.

Sat Night...Wind NW 15 kt to 25 kt. Combined seas 8 to 12 ft.

Here's the damn forecast for Sunday:

50% chance that the Blackhawks crush the Sharks in 4 games and I'm the only hispanic in North America to know or care...
60% chance that Ron Capps wins Funny Car at the NHRA Summer Nationals in Topeka...
70% chance that Maryland makes Notre Dam wish they had never picked up their lacrosse sticks..
80% chance that my damn dog wakes me up at 5:00 AM...
90% chance that coffee makes me feel human again...
100% chance that I open my garage door, hook up the trailer, and head for Mission Bay.

Now, whether make it there or end up at The Pancake House is about 50-50.

Pray for sunshine.

Your right; things can change in a day but right now the best effort would be spent chasing bait balls along the coast between Dana Point and Newport Beach. Did you see the size of the wsb coming out of that area? I love that kind of fishing anyway; there's something fun about chasing the birds and bait. Seems like you go home with the jackpot or nothing!

We will see what a few days bring. Thursday thru Saturday looks tough.

I'm hoping the wind is calm enough to Kayak fish Newport Bay Sat. AM.(It's not a jetski weekend at all!)

Last Update: 236 AM PDT WED MAY 19 2010
Sat...Wind W 10 to 20 kt. Wind waves 2 ft. Mixed swell W 6 to 8 ft and S 5 ft.
Sat Night...Wind W 10 to 20 kt. Wind waves 2 ft. Mixed swell W 7 ft and S 5 ft.
Sun...Wind NW 10 to 20 kt. Wind waves 2 ft. Mixed swell W 8 ft and S 5 ft.
Sun Night...Wind NW 15 to 20 kt. Wind waves 2 ft. Mixed swell W 7 ft and S 5 ft.
