What a day! Met with Alvin and Tony at the launch ramp and off we go! Traveled 10 minutes to our fishing spot. From there, we worked the arm muscles a bit to paddle in the kelp. First couple of spots were empty. However, when the breeze starts going, fish started biting. Limit of sheepheads for Alvin and I, Tony had 2 and second heaviest fish of the day.

Nice catch! I'm proud of you guys. Next time it will be sheephead tournament at Dana Point. Fifty dollar per entry. Biggest sheephead takes all.

I wish I could have joined you all. Since I didnt spend Christmas with the family this year, New year's was a family day. I would have much rather gone fishing though. I see the family all the time. But dont get to fish as often as I would like.
Has anyone seen where to get a map that indicated all of the new MLPA closures?
I put an app on my phone, but I am unable to zoom in far enough to make any sense out of it.

Alan... In regards to your $50 wager on the biggest sheephead... I am in, as long as I can fish close to you.
You seem to know all of the spots.

It was great to finish the year with a big catch of sheephead it was nice fishing with you guys it was nice to meet you Tony , and hope will do it again when the season opens up , and this is for Alan i am thinking of getting a bigger lobster net cause this one was getting to small as far the tournament for sheephead i am in. by the way i need to make a sanddab trip before the 20th of jan. if anybody is interstead of comming let me know happy new you to all

I think we should create a tournament for rockfish or sheephead spring 2012. We can decide later, we would pay money for the entry and that money goes for a fancy dinner at night="Guys Night" Haha what do you guys think? Btw Happy New Year to everyone!
