Launched out of Redondo Beach August 13th

Postby KieferFish » Thu Aug 18, 2011 5:40 pm

Launched out of Redondo Beach August 13th, knowing I wasn't going to be able to make it for the tournament the following day in Dana Point.

It was a day of some pretty weak fishing. I could not sink my bait without the mackrel biting 1st.. I moved to five different locations with the same results.... So I took a few of them as bait for the next trip, together with what I believe is a perch

Can't believe how dirty the water is along the coastline/kelp between San Pedro and Redondo Beach Harbors....FUBAR. Maybe I am just spoiled by all those beautiful and clean Channel Islands waters!?

Kings Harbor in Redondo Beach costs $22 to launch including parking.

I almost forgot!

As I was fishing out there, my cousin calls me on my cell phone mentioning to me that he is spearfishing in a tournament out of Redondo Beach that very same day. The son of a gun was not even 100 yards away from me the entire time, unknowingly to both him and myself.

Later on that day, the village idiot (he's actually a VERY bright guy  ) runs out of gas with his dinghy! I had to tow him for 3 miles until The Los Angeles County Lifeguard passed us by and relieved me; Towed him all the way back to the harbor at no charge! Awesome guys!
