aloha gang,
dont know what happened to the story but heres one from the west west coast (waianae, oahu) met up with westsidesurfer in the morning at 6 and in the water at 630. trolled the ledge with no action, then head for the buoys. westsidesurfer gets hooked up, checked if he needed help but he was ok. turned ski around and headed south towards other buoy. a few mins. later bamm my reel starts screaming. i turned around and see this marlin going nuts and jumping all over the place. fight it for an hour and get it to the ski, sunk a gaff into it and beat the crap out of it. secureit and westsidesurfer shows up , we take a few pics then back to the harbor for me. weighed in at192lbs. thanks to westsidesurfer for the pics and checking if i was ok. aloha!!!

Great fish. Who would have thought that you could get a marlin on a jet ski. Well done.

--whats next? well when i first decided to seriously set up my ski for fishing my main goal was to catch all the different pelagic fish hawaii has to offer, so far i got- ono (wahoo),mahi (dorado),aku (skipjack under 25lbs), otaru (skipjack over 25lbs), shibi (tuna under 100 lbs), au (marlin), and all i need now is an ahi (tuna 100lbs and up) to complete the main species list. but there are also sailfish, stripey marlin a!nd the black marlin, there around but not as common as the others. so my main goal is almost complete. then ill try for the uncommon guys but that is really trying my luck, but you just gotta be in the right place at the right time. (better lucky than good!) aloha guys!

Maka,
Do you have any pictures of your rig? I'd love to see how your pole holder is mounted.
Amazing fish and pictures by the way. You live in paradise.
