These are my favorite to catch!! Early last summer a few friends and I charted a 30ft Center Console out of Freeport. About 30 miles out we came across a long but slender weed patch. We stopped to catch bait fish for our destination that was an underwater structure 50 miles out. We were picking up the bait fish one after another, the the deck hand screams "DORADO"!!!!!!! I looked in the clear blue water and saw a dozen of them just watching us reel in out baith fish. I had never seen one before. They are amazing looking. We all switched to cut bait and it was game on... We ended up catching 8 smaller ones and 1 larger "bull." The bull was a bit harder to catch. He wouldn't go for the cut bait. The captain suggested we put on a 12" bright pink squid skirt and troll the weeds. On our second pass, BAMMMM!! Bull On!!
I dream of another day like that...

The guys that work on the rigs said that people were tearing them this the day before I came out there. Hopefully I'll find some time to meet up with you and we can head out there to get some kings, lings and hopefully dodos. :D Thats if you're up for a 15-20 mile ride lol it takes me about 30 or so minutes to get out there. I saw some triple tail out there last time as well but I could not get them to bite anything I threw at them

im way way down. lol i wanted to do a 20mile rig run for a while but im just waiting to get a second ski so my dad can ride by him self
