Off Shore freeport texas 9-10

met up with cedric and headed out to the rigs. went to the 4 mile rig and the water clarity just wasnt good. then tried the 6 mile rig. a little bit cleaner. then decided to hit the 15 mile rigs. the water there was just green with no blue. but it was cleaner than the 6 mile rig. it was a slow day with the smacks and kings not around. my dad managed to get 2 smacks. at the rigs their was plenty of angel/spade fish. we caught 80 and a lot of them were big !! my dad caught a 20incher.

also ran into a school of small lings.

all the angel fish were caught with dead peeled shrimp. very small pieces. small as a dime.

wind: less than 8mph
not much waves just big rollers. no white capping so it was an okay ride out but riding in sucked with all the fish.

pics ~~!@!

Wow,

That sure is a boat load of angel fish.
I assume that you are going to eat them.

How do they taste? What are they comparable to?
