I know after watching my videos and some reports, it seems really interesting and fun to catch sheepheads but there are certain rules.

1.one fisherman can ONLY keep 5 fish.
2.the length of the fish must be 12 inches or longer.
3.from March 1st to the end of the year you can fish. the rest, don't bother going. you'll get a ticket.
for any other rules or information check fish and game because sometimes they change the rules.

I usually always have the current sport fishing regulations on me.
I know they change mid year sometimes, but at least if we follow wat is in the sportfishing regulations book, we should be safe.
If not, it is certainly arguable in court.

PS. i need to get out and catch some before the end of the year. If allan keep up his streak, there wont be any left for the rest of us.

It would probably be beneficial to list what state those rules apply to. I know those are not Texas rules.

this rule applies to California, especially Alan! 5 sheepheads per trip x 3 trips a month x march to december (9 months) = 135 sheepheads a year!!

I don't think Texas have this kind of fish. This is California sheepheads.

Oh Yea! We have some monster Sheephead. These are definately not TEXAS RULES, but standby, that could change if TEXAS can find yet another way to make some money!!!! There is talk at the Capital of changing the Laws that govern the regitration of paddle powerd craft. (ie: Kayak) Why should anyone have to pay to "paddle" in the water. And don't give me "Co Emmisions" This is how rediculous our "Government for and of the People" have gotten.

Sad thing living here in Florida, I haven't seen a nice sized Sheephead since I was like 12 years old (that's almost 30 years). All I see are tiny specimens out here now a days. Chalk another one up for over-fishing.
