Thats exactly whats tearing me between the two skis- Yamaha seems more practical but the sea doo definitely looks better and has some cool stuff that hopefully wont break. I'm going to go visit both dealerships and see what impressions I get looking at the ski, hull and what comfort level I get from the folks there. Might even get some prices on replacement parts just to see how bad they might try to stick it to me after the sale and make a choice from there.

I'm glad to see that there are good reports on all the major skis. Makes me feel better that we'll be happy no matter which ski I pick as long as it is in the right size class.

We haven't used ours for fishing yet but have 2 2010 GTX's and we love them.

Very stable in the rough and dependable.

We're going to build them both out...

After 10months of deliberation and almost sold on a GTX 155 I just commited to Yami 2012 FX HO. I think I cant go wrong with either ski, but got a 4 year warranty from Yamaha as a boat show promo. I think this will be the best machine to be fishing 30miles offshore on the Gulf Stream. Just my personal choice and thanks for all the feedback to come to a decision. :D

Congrats on the yammy. Ive ridden all of the brands. I still prefer the yammy fxho for fishing purposes due to its size, stability and option to route the "pisser" into my live bait tank (cooler).... gas efficiency is great too. Its just too comfy for fishing. Now for speed and handling offshore's unpredictable swells and chops....i'd go for the kwak's ultra 300x, they're like a miniature cigarrete boats they cut through big chops like a hot knife on butter.....the new 2012 SD RXP-X is a promising contender for offshore racing. Im racing my yammy this year, though i wish i have $16k for the new RXP-X or the 300X.
