Nightshift check. Improving weather forecast check.
Launched at 0830 from Bucklands Beach and a trip round to Port Charles.

Stopped at the Aahaas for the latest wind, gusting 20 at Channnel Island. Bugga.

By the time I was halfway across to Channel, I was wishing I'd gone with the other skis to Little Barrier, bit choppy, not the smooth I was hoping for

Anyway got over to just before Channel to find birds, dolphins and a whale

No big workups, just sporadic patches.

So i stuck around to hoover up some snaps.

Just one other boat there, nice to have some company

The whale was a little intimidating, surfacing 20m from the ski

In total I took 5 snaps, all just on 50cm, 3 Kys and put back 3 larger snaps.

When the tide started running got some pretty turbulent water, thought I'd fish straight through it, plenty of sign on the sounder,

As you will see on the video, plenty of water sloshing about!

Used Zman new penny and swimmerz on 6oz balls.

About 12 the razor gang arrived and I lost 3 sets of terminal tackle in a row, so time to call it quits and back home.

64nm round trip.

Excellent. Pretty dedicated to go out in those conditions without a wingman!

Good job.

No wingman, but cell, VHF and PLB. All on my person.
Feel very safe.
