Alright so here's what happened today, i went to bass pro to shop around with my dad, and we just happened to pass by mako's new 2012 skiffs. Which are pretty nice and for the price easily afforadle. 16ft with 40hp mercury ttl and trailer otd was 14k and the 17ft with 60hp mercury ttl and trailer was 16k. My dad really liked the fact that they were affordable and cost the same as a jet ski. The fuel tank was small.... but can be upgraded. Comes stock with 6.6gallon and these motors run about 4-5 mile per gallon. Tanks can be upgraded to the 12 gallon tank. . . Well the only problem now was where to put it , so we went home and measured out the gate space in our backyard.... wwell the 17ft fit with extra only 80" wide but at this point I didn't want a skiff..... cause I wanted to go off shore and the skiff feels like it'd be too slow... so I convinced him to the mako 18lts. Long story short were probably gonna be gefting this boat.
Because if we went to buy another ski which would mostlikey be new and double trailer, we don't really have room for that, and if me n him both go out that's 2 skis to fill up which is 32 gallons of gas, then I have to build a rack for the new ski, have all my gear constantly wet and sometimes standing up and walkin a little isn't to bad. The boat seems more comfortable for the both of us and since he's gonna be the one mainly paying for it I rather have the boat for a fishing platform. we haven't bought anything yet but mostlikely the 18lts right now bass pro has 1000 gift card and 2 year free membership for everything in entire store 20 percent off.

No disrespect, but you can find a much nicer boat for that kind of money if you look around for a "Lightly" used one... This is one thing you don't want the pull the trigger on without doing your homework.. My opinion on the new Mako boats is that they are CHEAPLY made and not worth the money they are selling them for.

I too have thought about buying a boat as I do love to fish.
